Difference Between Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 8

Apple iPhones are always the leader when it comes to their performance and looks. Two of the best iPhones from Apple are the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8. Both of these devices are great in terms of their looks and overall performance, but iPhone 8 is newer model ich comes with some advanced features.

If you are thinking of upgrading your iPhone 7 with a brand new iPhone 8, then here is an in-depth comparison of these two devices.

Design

Talking about the design, both the iPhone 7 and 8 look similar. Both the phones come with round edges and a Touch ID scanner below the display. They come with an identical 4.7 inch LCD Display with 1334 x 750 resolution and 326ppi.

The only major change between iPhone 8 and 7 is the glass back on the iPhone 8. Apple has replaced the aluminium back panel of the iPhone 7 with a durable glass in its new iPhone 8. Apple has also given advanced true tone technology to iPhone 8, which makes the device capable of reacting to environmental light.

Performance

Why would anyone buy iPhone 8, the only answer to this question seems to be the performance. iPhone 8 is almost 25% faster when compared to the iPhone 7. It comes with A11 Bionic chipset, M11 Motion coprocessor and 2 GB of RAM (3 GB on the 8 plus).

The performance of iPhone 8 can be compared to 40% more expensive iPhone X. So overall, the multitasking experience and gaming are going to be a lot better on iPhone 8.

iPhone 7, on the other hand, uses the A10 Fusion chipset which was obviously the fastest Apple Chipset but that was before the launch of iPhone 8.

Camera

iPhone 7 and 8 are also identical when it comes to the camera. Both these phones have 12 MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture as well as optical image stabilization. The front camera on both these phones is also the same. A 7 MP Front facing clicker with f/2.2. So nothing has changed in terms of the camera at least on the paper.

Battery

Well, there is both good and bad news when it comes to the battery. The good news is that finally, Apple has added wireless charging capability and quick wired charging feature in the iPhone 8. The bad news here is the battery on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 7 last just the same. It simply means both the phones have similar 1960mAh battery.

Storage

In terms of storage iPhone 8 is definitely a winner when compared to 7 as it comes with increased 256 GB memory variant. But with increased storage options, the prices have also gone really high.

Bottom Line

Overall, both iPhone 7 and 8 are the same in terms of design and camera. But if you want better performance, high storage and wireless charging features, then you must upgrade to iPhone 8.
